Seemingly Interesting Miscellany From Around My World

Horse Now!

On a recent trip to the northern city of Bert in Armenia my wife, Annie, and our friends, Tim Straight and Ani Sarkissian, came upon a gruesome sight on a bridge near the village of Itsakar.

The photo. Warning,
its graphic in nature.

A young horse was found, apparently attacked and killed by wolves in the early hours of the morning. A photo of this sight was posted on Facebook, and very soon thereafter, we were in contact with someone from the very village that suffered this loss.

Backstory

We learned that it had gotten loose from its stable the night before, and that our photo had been taken even before the owner knew what happened to it. We learned that the death of this horse was a massive financial blow to its owner. We learned that the villagers had traveled to the bridge, to take the horse’s carcass, bring it back to the village, and bury it with due honor.

We have decided to raise the money to help this man regain what was taken from him. For approximately $800 we can get him a new horse.

If you’ve got a few bucks to help this man and his village, feel free to chip in!
